With that said, some hotels like the Westin will offer you higher quality rollaway beds which can still give you a good night sleep.įor the most part, you should expect the hotel to have extra bedding on hand that they will lend you. With rollaway beds, the goal is basically to make you more comfortable than you would be sleeping on the floor so the comfort standard is not super high. Rollaway beds on average are not going to be the most comfortable mattress. And on the other hand, some of these rollaway beds might actually be a little bit smaller or narrower than a twin mattress. Some of these might be a bit longer or wider and perhaps similar to what you might have been given in your college dorm room. Typically, a rollaway bed is going to be similar to a twin sized bed (38 by 75 inches). This is why it could be really helpful to call ahead and make a request for a rollaway bed.īy the way, if you are looking to purchase a hotel rollaway bed for your home or hotel those can go anywhere from $150 to $300 and you can find them at furniture stores and places like Walmart. For example, if you booked a room with two queen beds and the maximum occupancy is four, chances are a rollaway bed may not be an option.Īnother reason could be that they currently don’t have them available because other guests are using them. In other cases, a hotel may not offer rollaway beds due to restrictions with the fire code which is why there are limitations on the number of people who can occupy a hotel room. Why is this the case? It is largely because many hotels offer sofas with pull out mattresses so you essentially already have a rollaway bed in your room. If you review the data points below you will notice that a lot of properties do not offer rollaway beds. Make sure you are clear on the difference because if you were getting charged per night your bill at the end of your stay could be significantly higher than you initially anticipated.Īfter reviewing over 100 hotels, our research team found that (when charged) the average price of rollaway bed per night was $20 and per stay was $38. Meanwhile, a “night” is, as the name implies, just a single night you are sleeping at the hotel. So a single stay could consist of many nights. A “stay” is the full duration that you stay at the hotel. Something very important to be on the lookout for is that some prices are based on your stay while others are based on the amount of nights. However, in some major cities like New York or San Francisco you could be charged as much as $30 or even up to $75! Typically, this charge will be from $10 to $20. Some hotels will offer rollaway beds for free while others will charge you for the bed. Tip: Use the free app WalletFlo to help you travel the world for free by finding the best travel credit cards and promotions! Hotel rollaway bed prices These can be requested at many hotels, often for a fee, which I’ll cover in detail below with real-world examples. A hotel rollaway bed is basically a foam mattress placed on a metal frame that can usually be folded in half and easily wheeled around and stored.

Release the power button when your PC turns off. You can also press and hold the power button when your PC starts to boot. After a restart, you will see a Choose an option screen. To access Safe Mode, press and hold the Shift key on the keyboard and restart the PC. You must boot into your PC through safe mode when you cannot access your PC because you are stuck on the lock screen. Malware is prone to cause this type of problem on Windows PC. In addition, you can scan your entire system for malware. To solve this stuck at the lock screen before login, you can check for issues in drivers and find out softwares that is incompatible with your system. How to Fix Windows Getting Stuck on Welcome Screen So, let’s explore them.Ĭheck out our separate post on how to Speed Up Windows 11 Performance by Tweaking Settings. To get you out of this sticky situation, I have picked up and poured out some best-fixing methods into this article. I will not be surprised, and you shouldn’t be when the lock screen freezes due to a registry error. If a login or startup-related registry key or value is edited wrongly, it may bring chaos to the system. Registry error is also in the list of the accused. Moreover, drivers are responsible for running a system smoothly, and that’s why driver issues can trigger this too. Outdated softwares which is set to startup apps might trigger this phenomenon. So, why did the login screen get stuck all of a sudden?Ī PC failing to ensure specific requirements while starting up will freeze the screen. The above reasons are mainly responsible for a stuck login screen. Other factors such as obsolete applications, corrupted registry errors, or even malware can throw this sticking problem while you attempt to log in. You could be stuck on the lock screen before login because of a startup issue, outdated software driver problem, or incompatible softwares. Why is Windows Stuck on Welcome Screen Before Login?
The Users & Groups part of the macOS System Preferences lets you edit these, but it’s extremely limited. Login items, as the name suggests, are apps and other processes that run as soon as you log into macOS. It’s a similar story with similar images - there are some false positives, but overall this tool can be a big time-saver. That’s not a huge problem, though, and it does a reasonable job of finding poor-quality images to delete. If you search your entire Mac, you’re likely to get some inaccurate results, as it will pick up things like background images and icons, thinking they’re ‘bad’. The word ‘bad’ is naturally subjective, but CCleaner will attempt to find photos that are blurred, overly dark or otherwise not likely to be of good quality. It will seek out both bad and similar photos. Analyze photosĪlthough CCleaner’s duplicate finder will find exact copies of images, its Analyze photos feature goes a step further. You can do this in individual browsers too, of course, so the main advantage of using CCleaner is that you can target multiple browsers in one place. With CCleaner, you can scan the web browsers installed on your Mac and delete this data in a couple of clicks. Over time, this can accumulate and start to eat up a noticeable amount of disk space - but there are privacy issues at stake too. Web browsers store all kinds of data on your Mac, including cookies, cached files, browsing history and autofill information. It’s easy to install things and forget about them, so this is a quick way to fix that issue. You can also just look at large apps or, more helpfully, apps you haven’t used for at least six months. If you have problems deleting an app or are worried about some files being left over, an uninstaller tool like the one in CCleaner might come in handy.Īfter a scan, CCleaner will show you all apps that can be uninstalled. To delete an app from your Mac, you don’t usually need to do anything other than dragging it to your Trash. There may be a good reason why you have duplicates, particularly if they’re found in different parts of your system drive. As with all duplicate finding tools, though, you should take a moment to look at the results before hitting the Clean button. Helpfully, the results are sorted into the following categories: All files, Documents, Pictures, Songs, Videos, Folders, and Others. On an M1 Mac mini, it only took a couple of seconds to scan the entire system, finding 1.97GB of duplicate files. This is useful, because you might just want to scan your photo or music collections, for example. Find duplicatesĬCleaner can look for duplicate files on your whole Mac, just selected folders or external drives. You might need to close some apps to clean out their cached files, but other than that, the process is quick and easy. CCleaner will select what it recommends cleaning out, but edit this to your liking, and there are options to Select all and Select none too. In our test, it found 26.09GB of data that we could safely delete. Here’s an overview of CCleaner’s features and how they perform.Ĭlick the Scan button, and CCleaner will immediately start searching your Mac for what it describes as ‘clutter’. So if you’re coming to it from an earlier version, you might need to take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new layout. CCleaner for Mac FeaturesĪlthough the functionality of CCleaner remains largely the same, the way the tools are organized is different. The Erase Free Space tool is gone, but apart from that, the app has everything you’ll need to remove unwanted files from your Mac. When you start up CCleaner, you’ll be presented with six tools, each with its own button that will whisk you off to a different part of the app.ĭespite the redesign, most of the features in the old version of CCleaner are still here. Before, it was essentially a clone of the Windows version, with all the main features accessible from a sidebar on the left, and the fine control on the right. The first and most obvious thing that’s changed is the user interface. What’s changed in this version of CCleaner? The types of files it can delete include application caches, log files, duplicate, and startup items. It then lets you delete them quickly and securely, which not only reclaims disk space but might also give your system a small speed boost. What is CCleaner?ĬCleaner searches your Mac for files that you don’t need and may not want to keep. But is it an improvement or not? Read on to find out. When we last reviewed CCleaner, in 2021, it was a much different app to what you’ll find today. Recently, CCleaner has undergone a transformation in both its appearance and functionality. If you see the above output, you successfully installed prom-client into your Node.js app. # TYPE nodejs_gc_duration_seconds histogram # HELP nodejs_gc_duration_seconds Garbage collection duration by kind, one of major, minor, incremental or weakcb. To begin, log in to your machine and create a new app directory called app. To instrument an existing Node.js app, please see the prom-client GitHub repository. This guide will demonstrate setup steps for a new Node.js app. Steps may vary slightly depending on your operating system and Node.js version. This guide uses an Ubuntu 20.04 system with Node.js version 15.11.0. In this step you’ll set up prom-client for Node.js to collect and expose Node.js metrics in Prometheus format. Step 1: Setting up prom-client for Node.js To learn more about Grafana Cloud, please see Grafana Cloud. You will still need to scrape metrics, using either Prometheus installed in your environment, or the Grafana Cloud Agent. Grafana Cloud hosts Grafana and a Mimir-based Prometheus metrics endpoint. To learn how to install Grafana, please see Install Grafana from the Grafana docs. Grafana running in your environment or directly on the machine. To learn how to install Prometheus, please see Installation from the Prometheus docs. Prometheus running in your environment or directly on the machine. To learn more, please see Downloads from the Node.js site. Prerequisitesīefore you get started, you should have the following available to you: To learn how to set up prom-client for Node.js using the Node.js Integration, please see Node.js Integration from the Grafana Cloud docs. The Node.js Integration embeds prom-client for Node.js into the Grafana Cloud Agent and automatically provisions alerting rules and dashboards, so you don’t have to run through the steps in this guide. If you’re using Grafana Cloud, the Node.js Integration can help you get up and running quickly. At the end of this guide you’ll have dashboards that you can use to visualize your Node.js metrics, and a set of preconfigured alerts. Finally, you’ll set up a preconfigured and curated set of Grafana dashboards, and alerting rules. You’ll then configure Prometheus to scrape Node.js metrics and optionally ship them to Grafana Cloud. In this guide you’ll learn how to set up and configure prom-client for Node.js to collect Node.js metrics like event loop lag and active handles and expose them as Prometheus-style metrics. To learn how to collect Node.js metrics using the Node.js Integration, please see Node.js Integration from the Grafana Cloud docs. If you’re using Grafana Cloud, you can skip all of the steps in this guide by installing the Node.js Integration, which is designed to help you get up and running in a few commands and clicks. To learn how to do this, please see Reducing Prometheus metrics usage with relabeling from the Grafana Cloud docs. To learn more about configuring prom-client for Node.js and toggling its collectors, please see the prom-client for Node.js GitHub repository.īeyond toggling prom-client for Node.js’s settings, you can reduce metrics usage by dropping time series you don’t need to store in Prometheus or Grafana Cloud. Note that depending on its configuration, prom-client for Node.js may collect and publish far more metrics than this default set. To see a list of metrics shipped by default with this exporter, please download a sample metrics scrape here. This exporter publishes roughly 78 Prometheus time series by default. Set up Prometheus alerting rules to alert on your metrics data. Imported Grafana dashboards to visualize your metrics data. Set up a preconfigured and curated set of recording rules to cache frequent Prometheus queries. prom-client for Node.js will expose these as Prometheus-style metrics.Ĭonfigured Prometheus to scrape prom-client for Node.js metrics and optionally ship them to Grafana Cloud. Set up and configured prom-client for Node.js to collect Node.js app metrics like event loop lag, active handles, and GC metrics. After running through the steps in this quickstart, you will have: The following quickstart provides setup instructions and preconfigured dashboards, alerting rules, and recording rules for the prom-client for Node.js Prometheus metrics exporter. I chose Talens Van Gogh Ultramarine and Burnt umber because I have both in tubes, so it’s easier to get a large amount of a dark, intense mixture. My favorites are mixes of blue and brown. You can mix black using many different complementary dark colors. If you want to know more about this, I’ll link a good explanation by Mind of Watercolor. The interesting thing with watercolor is that you can actually get darker blacks by mixing several transparent colors, than by using the common black pigments. While I often use it for shadows in my sketchbooks and journals, it’s too blue and too weak to act as a true black in my paintings. Payne’s Gray is a popular convenience mix of Ivory Black pigment and an intense blue or violet pigment, which results in a very moody, cool dark color. But overall it’s not good compared to other mediums. My test places it at about the same level of darkness as chromatic black (below), so it’s great if you absolutely want to stick with watercolor. It has the same neutral tone as Mars Black, but no granulation and is it transparent, which is better for layering. Update (not on video): I purchased a new black paint called Spinel Gray by Talens Rembrandt, which is made of an uncommon pigment PBk26.It’s a bit more even, but much warmer in tone, and not noticeably darker than Mars Black. I remembered I had an old tube of Louvre Ivory Black, which is a non-granulating pigment, so I tried that as well just in case.Getting a perfectly flat wash requires heavyweight watercolor paper that won’t buckle, and carefully applying many light washes (at least 5-6 layers). So I gave it another go, this time using Canson XL watercolor paper. My first attempt was really bad, after two layers it’s still pretty light.I knew going in that watercolor is not the best medium because it takes a lot of effort to get a dark, deep surface, I just wanted to see how it compared to others.Iron oxide pigment called Mars Black by Roman Szmal.I used black watercolor paint on my painting Mind Patterns I (I can’t remember which one though, but it was probably Ivory Black). I’m testing different mediums, not variations between brands. Different brands have comparable products. I use student-grade or artist-grade art materials that are available to me in the European Union. I don’t have every option in existence, but I don’t want to go buy more stuff. I’ll compare the mediums I already have at home. If one layer doesn’t produce a perfectly even surface because of my shoddy technique, I want to give it a fair chance so I’ll do an extra layer to even things out. I’ll use 2 layers at most because I’m not a patient person. Ease of application – the less time and effort it takes to apply, the better. Most matte – the less reflective the surface, the better because matte color is easier to photograph and scan.Even coverage – I’m looking for a flat black with no visible texture or strokes. We notice if it’s lighter than jet-black, we notice the sheen… All those features get emphasized when scanning and photographing our work. But when applied to a solid surface, it’s easy to see the texture of the medium and uneven coverage. When you use it for thin outlines, it will look dark and deep pretty much no matter what you use. The most common way is using PuTTYâs saved session instead of hostnames. Psftp> ren ""it"" "is a file with ""quotes"" in it" Public Key Authentication With PSFTPĪkin to PuTTY, there are three ways PSFTP can authenticate using a public key. Usually, it happens on Unix like system that allows double quote in file names. More so, the PSFTP prompt will remove the double quotes itself and not view it as a file name.Īlso, users can double the double quote in case the name has a double quote. The primary function of the double space is to ensure that the space between the filename it surrounds is not considered as word separators. Psftp> get "spacey file name.txt" "save it under this name.txt" As it contains space, programmers can specify the file name as follows: The double quote is functional for both local and remote files.įor example, the file name is my work.txt. For that matter, one can write it between double quotes. However, at times, users have to define a filename that has spaces. PSFTP marks most of the commands as a sequence of words that are separated by spaces.
The first pack with the name Lazy Newb Pack (LNP) was created by LucasUP for Windows and DF version 0.31.12 and posted in the bay12forums on June 11, 2010. It may however be interesting to look back at how the LNP/Starter Pack movement evolved. This section is provided for information, and should not be interpreted as a recommendation for these packs. Eventually, someone new steps up and releases their own pack. Maintaining a pack is a lot of work, and over the years, people inevitably lose time or motivation to update their packs. Screenshot of the LucasUP released in 2010 See the readme on the repo for usage instructions to get an updated pack. This is actually a script to download the individual parts and assemble them into a pack you can run. The "lite" version includes fewer utilities - see the forum thread for details.

The Malicious Codeįor readability, here are the snippets of malicious code. This makes it clear that the actor's intention was to subtly insert the code into the existing repository and allow the library to continue to function normally. The malicious code was deeply embedded in the src/plain/number/arithmetic.js file just one of the 2401 files in the entire repository. Upon examining the repository, it becomes clear that the malicious code was inserted into the innocuously sounding commit titled "fix: type collision." The discordTokenGrabber() function containing the malicious code was then inserted into the legitimate sqrtNumber() function of the library. It is evident that this account was created as a burner account, as mathjs-min is the only repository associated with it. The GitHub user's home page can be accessed here. Strangely, the author also included a link to their forked GitHub repository, which reveals their intentions through their commit history. To add legitimacy to the malicious package, the author copied the README directly from the genuine mathjs package. The modified version was then published to NPM with the intention of passing it off as a minified version of the genuine mathjs library. This package is actually a modified version of the widely used Javascript math library mathjs, and was injected with malicious code after being forked. Phylum has recently discovered that a package called mathjs-min ⚠️ Check Package, which was uploaded to NPM by user rizzman on March 26, contains a Discord token grabber.
